Our History

Royal Coachman Worldwide has been operated as a family business since 1969, when Bob Epstein, the owner of a local travel agency, figured opening a limo service would be a nice side business. Beginning with two cars and three drivers that took customers to and from the airport, he soon found it was a case of the proverbial tail wagging the dog. The limousine company prospered and soon convinced him to sell the travel agency. Royal Coachman has enjoyed steady growth over the years, with his children, Amy Birnbaum and Jon Epstein, now the Chief Executive Officer and President, respectively, entering the business in the mid-1980s. Today, Royal Coachman Worldwide is one of the country's leading limousine services with over 600 affiliates throughout the United States and around the world. We have a fleet of approximately 150 vehicles locally and employ a staff of 200, at our 22,000-square foot corporate headquarters located in Denville, New Jersey.

We are proud to have won many honors, including Limousine and Chauffeured Transportation Magazine's Operator of the Year in the large category, Lincoln's Top 50 Limousine Companies in the United States, and the National Limousine Association's Operator of the Year for outstanding accomplishments. Royal Coachman has also been named one of the Top 100 Woman-Owned Companies in the nation and been recognized by Business Diversity.com.

American Express has featured Chief Executive Officer Amy Birnbaum in a series of national television and radio commercials. Amy, who speaks and writes frequently on issues affecting small businesses, was recently named to the national advisory board of Enterprising Women Magazine.
