New Jersey is one of the premier destinations on the eastern seaboard. Close to many major cities including New York and Philadelphia, New Jersey makes an ideal place to take a summer break. Cape May

Located at the very end of the Jersey Shore, Cape May is a town of beautifully colored houses and gentle waters. The Boardwalk

The State Parks

While New Jersey is one of the smallest states in the country, it has lots of state parks. High Point state, in the northwest corner, offers views across the entire area and a lake where you can swim. Other parks with lakes that you can swim in and lots of hiking including Swartswood Lake and Lake Hopatcong. Barnegat Lighthouse State Park is a shore park with a working lighthouse.

Fabulous Amusement Parks

Another amazing thing to do during the summer is the state’s many amusement parks. Take the little ones to The Land of Make Believe for story time, lots of pint-sized rides and an adjacent water park. Older teens will relish the opportunity to head for Great Adventure. One of the largest amusement parks on the east coast, Great Adventure has dozens of rides for children of all ages.
