5 Haunted Houses to Visit In New Jersey This Halloween

There’s no shortage of fun in New Jersey when it comes to Halloween. There is always an event or party for both the faint at heart and daredevils. There are costume parties, spooky hayrides, pumpkin patches, and trick or treating.

But a New Jersey Halloween is not complete without a visit to a haunted house. Farms become ghostly fields, old buildings are invaded by ghosts and demons. There are lots of haunted houses to visit in New Jersey. It can be difficult to figure out which one you should visit.

Bane Haunted House

This is arguably the best haunted house in New Jersey. It is rated 9.5/10 by Team Hallowoosh and has won “the scariest haunted house” in NJ five times in a row. The setup features over 100 live actors prepared to make your night terrifying uses no animatronics.

The Bane’s 40,000 square feet space makes your scary adventure very interactive and intensive. it plays on your worst nightmares such as fear of the dark, separation anxiety, claustrophobia and lots more.  General admission tickets go for $28 each and a VIP ticket is $48. Free entry for anyone with a valid military ID. If you are a scaredy-cat, you can buy the happily haunted ticket for $8.

This is recommended for children. Happily, Haunted is available only on Sundays from 2:30 to 4:30 pm.

 

Brighton Asylum

The Brighton Asylum was called the “The Scariest Place on Earth” on the Today Show. In case you were wondering, it’s an actual asylum and was closed in 1952 for disturbing reasons. Now you get to have the most terrifying night of your life in its zombie-filled asylum halls, underground tunnel system, and escape rooms. The set is of Hollywood quality and has amazing special effects.

The Bleeding Grounds is a new experience that will blow your mind. Accept a glow necklace if you are brave enough or just reject it if you are not. You were warned. The asylum is open every weekend nights and some weekdays.

 

Scary Rotten Farms

It is an all outdoor attraction which features two haunts that will make you experience real-life horror. Enter Sinister Sneed’s Chaotic Carnival of Chaos and your soul might be harvested by Jacob Sneed to feed the Devil. In Blackened: The Plague, victims of the Apocalypse in Ravenshire are infected with the plague are now coming after you.  Beware! They are dangerous and delusional. It is rated 13+ anyone younger must be accompanied by an adult.

  • VIP Combo (no waiting): $50

 

13th Hour Haunted House

The 13th Hour Haunted House (formerly The Haunted Scarehouse) is an award-winning Halloween attraction. The designers are inspired by Walt Disney and pay special attention to details. There are three haunted houses to choose from.

The House of Nightmares, The Attic are both featured in the Two Floors of Fear Package. The last is an all-new attraction – The Darkside of Hayden House. You navigate a maze in total darkness with the company of ghosts. It also features some of the most immersive escape rooms in the nation.

There are also special events to make your horrific journey in The 13th Hour more fun. To intensify things a bit, accept the glow stick and the characters can touch you. The haunted house opens 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm (On October 13th, 20th and 27th, they close 11:30 pm).

Escape Room days are Tuesday – Friday 4:00pm – 10:30pm, Saturday – Sunday 12:00pm- 10:30pm. There will be live actors in the escape rooms from 6 pm when the haunted house is open. Buy tickets online to skip having to wait in line.
