Posted on: July 3rd, 2018 by royalcoachmanww No Comments

People from New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey head down to the shores in search of the simple pleasures of the summer. We’re talking about hiking, biking on the boardwalk and soaking up the sun. There is also an added bonus of eating ice cream and funnel cake.

Dozens of New Jersey beaches offer all these indulgences. However, you have a hard time deciding which one to pick. Relax, we’re about to make that decision easier. Here is our list of the best New Jersey beaches.

Cape May

Located at the southern tip of New Jersey, Cape May’s ambience gives a feeling of stepping in the past. It is the oldest seaside resort in the United States and considered a choice destination for tourists that are interested in history and architecture.

There are loads of colourful Victorian mansions for visitors to enjoy in a rented bike or a trolley. The sea views of Cape May is also worthy of attention.

The Wildwoods

The Wildwoods is a collection of three adjacent beach towns. It offers a wooden boardwalk, which comes with shops, arcades, restaurants, and amusement park rides. If you are interested in a quieter residential experience, consider the Northwood and the Wildwood Crest.

Wildwood gives visitors a glimpse of the 1950s with its diners and retro motels. Also, you’ll find some of the widest beaches in the state in this destination. The great thing is, access is free.

Ocean City

If you are looking for the best New Jersey beach for family fun, Ocean city is what you need. Are you wondering why? The town was founded in 1879 by four Methodist ministers and it has been uneventful ever since. As such, it attracts less party crowd than other New Jersey Beaches.

Still, it offers some pretty interesting features too. This includes a 2.5-mile boardwalk, where you’ll find amusement and water parks. There are also ice cream shop, pizza places and arcades. You’ll find the prettiest beaches in the southern part of the town. This is ideal for fishing, hiking or sunbathing.

Spring Lake

A lot of people will agree that the Jersey shore doesn’t have a reputation of elegance. However, that is exactly what this quiet seaside community offers. The streets of Spring Lake are lined with Victorian homes, which gives a unique type of charm.

Just up the cost of Spring Lake, you’ll find Belmar. This beach offers a completely different vibe from the Victorian charm of Spring Lake. Popular among college kids, Belmar is always very interesting during the summer. We’re talking about concerts and movies on the sand.

There are also some parts of the beach that are reserved for activities such as kayaking, boogie boarding, stand-up paddle boarding, etc. Please note that smoking is not allowed on the boardwalk and on the beach.
