Things to Do in New Jersey this Fall

Now that we have said goodbye to Summer, its warmth, and the activities that come with it, we have to focus on Autumn. We must find a way to enjoy the change in scenery, the crispness in the air and the smell of fallen leaves. Let’s make the most out of the season before it passes by.

As such, we have outlined a bunch of activities to enjoy in New Jersey this fall.

Take a Hike

While summer is the best season to go on vacations and see the world, Autumn is arguably the best time to pack your backpack and go hiking. And the 72.2 miles of Appalachian Trail in the Garden State offers the opportunity to do just that.

Aside from this trail, there are other parks and reservations scattered across the state that offer an opportunity to enjoy the NJ scenery. Some spots in New Jersey that are renowned for their nice view include Cheesequake State Park in Sayreville and High Point State Park in Sussex.

Pick Your Apples

Apple picking is one of the most essential activities during the fall, and New Jersey is apple-central. Local farmers across the state offer multiple varieties of apple for picking and eating. One place to check out for a taste of one of the 14 apple varieties is the Battleview Orchards Country Market and Bakery.

Another farm in New Jersey that offers apple picking in the fall is Wightman’s Farm. However, your tour of farms to pick an apple in NJ would not be complete without visiting one of the largest apple growers in the state, Melick’s Town Farm.

Attend a Beer or Wine Festival

One way to warm your blood during the cold autumn breeze is to grab a cup of fizzy ale. Lucky for you, New Jersey happens to be home to some of the most interesting wine and craft beer festivals in the fall. That’s right, it’s an opportunity to try something new.

Consider attending the Annual Oktoberfest in New Brunswick this year for a fun, memorable fall in New Jersey.

Cozy Up and Read a Book

Another way to enjoy fall in New Jersey is by simply cozying up with a good book. Consider reading the book series of Game of Thrones by New Jersey’s own George R.R. Martin.

So, as the temperature drops, move your armchair closer to the fireplace and enjoy your fantasy book. An adventure in this imaginary world might be what you need to enjoy this autumn and the coming winter. That’s right, winter is coming.

Visit the Shore

This list of things to do in New Jersey cannot be complete without mentioning a visit to the shore. Post-Labor Day is often seen by the locals as the beginning of their personal summer.

As such, there are loads of shore festivals to enjoy in New Jersey this fall, such as LBI Fly International Kite Festival in Long Island Beach and Indian Summer Weekend in Ocean City.

There are tons of couple activities to enjoy in New Jersey this fall; you just need to be open to new experiences. More essentially, you need the type of transport that fits the fairytale date you want. Consider our New Jersey car service to take your travel experience to the next level.
